The 1967 Shelby GT-500 Super Snake was a prototype designed as a promotion for Goodyear tires. But at a production cost of more than double the stock GT500, they abandoned their plan for a limited model run. It wasn't until 2007 that Ford in partnership with Shelby American was able to finally offer a Super Snake to the public at large, thanks to the success of Gone in 60 Seconds.
